Girls & Boys In-Town FAQ's

Girls In-Town

-The season will run roughly from the beginning of December to the middle of March. There will be no games on Christmas week, New Year’s week, or President’s week.

-All games and practices are on Saturday mornings. There are no practices or games during the week or on Sundays.

-Zone defense is not allowed to be played.

-All players will play the same amount, regardless of skill level.

2nd-grade girls

-Games will be at McKinley School

-Practices(~30 minutes) and games(~40 minutes) are combined into one 70 minute session on Saturday’s.

-We try and keep the rosters small to optimize practice and game time for each girl, so we will try to make 10 teams and play 4 on 4.

-Games will take place at one of the following sessions:

8am-9:10am  9:10am-10:20am  10:20am-11:30am 11:30am-12:40pm  12:50-2pm

-The score will not be kept

-Stealing the ball is not allowed, intercepting a pass is allowed.

-Baskets are about 8 feet tall to begin but may be raised later in the season.

-Trophies will be given out at the end of the season

3rd-grade girls

-Games will be played at Franklin School on Saturday mornings.

-There will be a referee to enforce basic rules like traveling and fouls. The score will not be kept.

-Practices and games will be combined into 90-minute sessions. Game times will be one of the following:

8-9:30am             9:30am-11am     11:00am-12:30pm            12:30pm-2pm

-Baskets will be about 9 feet tall to start and could be raised later in the season.

-Trophies will be given out at the end of the season.

4th-5th-grade girls

-Games will be held at Tamaques School.

-Teams will be roughly split evenly between 4th and 5th graders.

-Practices and games will be combined into 90-minute sessions. Game times will be one of the following:

8-9:30am             9:30am-11am     11:00am-12:30pm            12:30pm-2pm

-We will keep score and there will be an 8 team playoff in the final 3 weeks of the season.

-The teams who finish in first and second place after the playoffs will receive T-shirts saying Champion/Runner Up.

-Games will be 5 on 5. 

Girls 6th-7th-8th-grade information

-Games will be played at Roosevelt School.

-Final three weeks of the season will be playoffs.

-Practices and games will be combined into 90-minute sessions. Game times will be one of the following:

8-9:30am             9:30am-11am     11:00am-12:30pm            12:30pm-2pm

 

Boy's In-Town

- Everyone will get a trophy at the end of the season

4th-12th grade

- Practices and games will be combined into 90-minute sessions. Game times will vary

- Games will be 5 on 5.

- Basket will be regulation height

- Final two weeks of the season will be playoffs
